About Me

I have been enjoying photography since 1970, and although I've mainly used Nikon film cameras, in 2002 I made the switch to digital with a 4 megapixel Olympus E-10. I like this camera because it has a fast, 35-140mm (35mm equivalent) f/2.0-2.4 zoom lens. Even though the E-10 is only 4MP, the images are amazingly sharp. And since the lens is permanently attached, I never had to deal with dust getting on the imaging sensor. I always shot most of my images in Olympus' RAW (.ORF) format to give me more control and flexibility over the final output.

After mastering a digital workflow, I decided that I wanted the flexibility of using my favorite Nikkor lenses from my older Nikon film cameras. So in 2007, I invested in a Nikon D200. I chose the D200 because, unlike the Dxxxx and Dxx series of Nikon DSLRs, it can meter correctly with my many legacy manual-focus AI Nikkors from the 1980s and 1990s. Also, with over 10 megapixel resolution, the higher image quality over the Olympus is obvious.
